This is another very common misconception amongst Non-Muslims that Islam abuses them by calling them Kafirs. Although its funny, yet its our duty to clear this misconception. It is amazing to observe that people can be so intelligent in worldly affairs but when it comes to religious knowledge and understanding, they are foolish. The Darkness is so much around these people that they tend to accept such silly misconceptions without properly analyzing it. anyways, read on:
“Kafir” means one who rejects
‘ Kafir ‘ is derived from the word ‘ kufr ‘, which means to conceal or to reject. In Islamic terminology, ‘ Kafir ‘ means one who conceals or rejects the truth of Islam and a person who rejects Islam is in English called a ‘non-Muslim’.
Every religion has two kinds of people
It is a known fact that every religion has two kinds of people. for example in christianity, there is a christian while another kind is Non-christian. Similarly, in Hinduism, there is a Hindu while another is Non-Hindu. In the same way, Islam also has two kinds of people; One a Muslim (the one who submits his will to God) while another is Non-Musilm (the one who rejects the message of Islam)
If non-Muslims are hurt – they should accept Islam
If any non-Muslim considers the word ‘ Kafir ‘ i.e. ‘non-Muslim’ as an abuse, he may choose to accept Islam and then we will stop referring to him as or call him a kafir i.e. a non-Muslim.
